Hard Seltzer Craze!

With the success of beverages like Truly Spiked and Sparkling and White Claw Hard Seltzer, It is fair to say hard seltzer is the hottest craze in alcoholic beverages. Many people are trying to improve their diet by reducing their sugar and carb intake, making Hard Seltzer (often clocking in at only 100 calories and little to no sugar) a perfect alternative to beer in 2019. With good weather on the horizon, a plethora of options have exploded onto the market, offering a ton of new options in the category. A large section of Potash’s cooler is now dedicated to these refreshingly low calorie drinks, and we want to talk about some of our favorites!

Wild Basin

From Oskar Blues Brewing, the brewery that makes craft beer classics such as Dale’s Pale Ale, comes Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water. Oskar Blues claims to have created the, “First national craft hard seltzer,” with Wild Basin. At only 100 calories and 0 grams of sugar, Wild Basin offers a healthy (as booze can get) alternative to wine and beer. To set itself apart from other options on the market, Wild Basin comes in unique flavor combinations such as Melon Basil and Lemon Agave Hibiscus.

SeekOut

2 Towns Ciderhouse put its two cents into the mix in the form of SeekOut Real Hard Seltzer. SeekOut, following its producer’s specialty as a ciderhouse, uses fermented apples for its alcohol base. Hitting the mark of 100 calories, 0 sugar, 2 Towns never adds artificial flavors or concentrates to its products. Their “no shortcuts approach,” to ciders carries over into this new product, and has a chance to be contender this year. Try their fun, creative new flavors such as Key Lime + Mint or Raspberry + Meyer Lemon.

All of these options and more are available at Potash Markets on State now. We think these will do extremely well as a healthier alternative this summer and can’t wait to hear what you think of our selection!
